Lamya completes its first new building

Big smiles on the face of everybody!

This little village, in the middle of huge rice fields, was struggling with its school infrastructure.  The existing buildings were in a very bad shape and they tried to build 2 new classrooms and a teacher office.  However, they failed to raise the money to complete this building.

With our help, the new building looks very beautiful.  The village got really encouraged by that and asked our help for cleaning up the rest of the buildings, which includes even tearing down parts and start from scratch.  Within a year we will see here another 2 buildings being ready for handover and plans are already made for the final building. What a spirit!!!

It was a very hot day and the local officials were very late.  So we watchED a dance competition between some pupils.  Also some older boys and girls showed us their dancing skills. After the handover we could leave with a big bag of local rice and a rooster.
