Ibonde - The end of my frustrations!

I lost count of the many times I stopped here on the way to other villages, asking why the work was not moving on. All the time, we got evasive answers, but bad leadership was certainly one of the main reasons. Finally, they got a new leadership in the village and see: they got the job done.  It took them 2 years to do a job which would take 3-4 weeks maximum!!!

Also here happy faces. Thanks to what we told them during the handover ceremony, they have now a better understanding about the link between their extreme poverty, the number of children they have and the lack of education. They committed to renovate the 2 remaining buildings this year.  The budget is available. If they manage that, we will build next year the 3 last missing rooms, including a library.

It was a pleasure and an honor to see this building handed over by Brian Hicks and Ilona Martin from Waterbridge (Premier Brands - Canada). They are one of our biggest contributors of Cocoa for Schools. Thank you so much!!!
